This prestigious scholarship is designed to support underrepresented minorities across high school, college, and medical school who are passionate about becoming a physician.
The scholarship opens on May 1 and closes on August 1.

Noelle Elizabeth Patricia Nelson made a bold decision early in life—not only would she become a doctor, but she would also be a catalyst for change in policy, education, and healthcare. Noelle is the visionary founder of "Teach Teal: Food Allergy Awareness," a groundbreaking curriculum teaching children about food allergies and fostering empathy via a monthly Zoom support group for >600 children with allergies. She has also taken her advocacy to Capitol Hill, lobbying for legislation to support the 33 million Americans living with food allergies. In her relentless pursuit, Noelle has even self-published multiple books on allergy awareness. As a high school student, she has already taken medical courses at prestigious institutions like Duke University, Columbia University, and Wake Forest University. She has also accumulated over 50 hours of clinical shadowing in Pediatrics, Ophthalmology, and at a newborn clinic, all while earning over 15 awards and honors.
Victoria Guerrier is a first-generation Haitian American and a sophomore at Yale University, where she is pursuing a pre-medical track with a major in Biomedical Engineering studying neurodegenerative diseases, with the ultimate goal of earning an MD/Ph.D. Her high school journey was marked by extraordinary achievements, including serving as the Class of 2023 salutatorian and becoming the first female international medalist for Haiti. Not only is she excelling academically, but she also competes for both the Yale Varsity track and field team and the national Haitian track and field team, proudly representing her heritage on an international stage. Fluent in four languages—English, Haitian Creole, Spanish, and French—Victoria embodies a truly global perspective. Her accomplishments have garnered significant media attention, with features in outlets such as 20 Under 20 Young Innovators Changing the World, Diversity Magazine, CNN, the Sherri Shepherd Show TV, USA Today, Good Morning America, NBC Live News, and ABC News 7.
Taka Nah Jelah's journey from Cameroon to becoming a standout medical student at Renaissance School of Medicine at Stony Brook University is nothing short of extraordinary. A survivor of a near-death experience in her homeland, she turned what could have been a tragic end into a powerful new beginning, driven by an unshakeable resolve to bring healthcare to those in need. Graduating with a near-perfect 3.97 GPA from the University of Southern Mississippi, Taka's had over 10 volunteer experiences, >12 honors and awards, 9 research projects under her belt, and even secured a publication in the Journal of Medical Entomology in 2023. In medical school, she crafted a coloring book celebrating diversity in medicine and created a portrait that uniquely highlights anatomy on African American patients, which isn’t as common to see. Taka Nah Jelah truly embodies the spirit of innovation, leadership, and dedication to the field of medicine.
Maria Camas, a proud Hispanic American and 2ndyear medical student at FIU, was first introduced to the medical field when her childhood hero—her grandfather—was diagnosed with cancer. This pivotal moment ignited a lifelong passion for medicine. In high school, she volunteered at a physical therapy clinic, but her true calling became clear as she embarked on a pre-medical track in university. During her undergraduate years, Maria volunteered at a hospital, where she gained invaluable experience by interviewing postoperative patients about their recovery. Maria is determined to join the ranks of the 2.4% of Latina physicians in the United States, with a mission to reduce gender and ethnic disparities in healthcare. Her academic journey is distinguished by her role as a research assistant at FIU, the completion of a summer research fellowship, and her participation in the prestigious Pipeline Initiative for the Enrichment of Radiology (PIER) Internship. She has numerous volunteer experiences, publications, and presentations to her name, and she currently serves as a mentor and ambassador at FIU.
Gbadeoluwa Adedigaba is a student at the University of Southern Mississippi's Honors College, studying Polymer Science and Engineering with a goal of becoming an MD/PhD candidate. Growing up in Saki, Nigeria, a rural city of 350,000 residents with only four licensed medical practitioners and limited access to drinkable water, Gbadeoluwa faced challenges that would have daunted many. But instead of being discouraged, he was driven to become a change agent, determined to make a difference in healthcare and sustainability. His passion led him to seize every opportunity to research and advance medicine, resulting in a published article that documents his groundbreaking work. His exceptional research and unwavering tenacity earned him the recognition of being named a Global Leader by none other than Bill and Hillary Clinton. With over 10 awards and honors to his name, Gbadeoluwa continues to push the boundaries of research and innovation.
Nicole Butler’s journey is a testament to resilience and determination. Despite facing numerous unprovoked challenges in her early life due to difficult familial circumstances, she emerged stronger and more focused than ever. As a first-generation high school graduate, Nicole ranked in the top 20% of her class at Klein Cain High School. She accumulated over 30 college credit hours and earned two healthcare certifications—Certified Nursing Assistant and Certified Clinical Medical Assistant. Nicole’s leadership qualities shone brightly as she served as Vice President of the Young People & Children’s Division, Historian of her SGA Class, Social Media Chair of the Black Student Union, and Spirit Coordinator of the Legacies Dance Team. Her ultimate goal is to become a dermatologist, a path she will continue to pursue as she attends Prairie View A&M University.
